Respect for Life
Health Care Decision Making
Continual advances in medical technology bring many blessings but also pose complex ethical questions. While many of us avoid thinking about illness and death, they are a reality. Take time before a crisis to prayerfully consider your wishes with our Catholic faith in mind, to talk with family members and to put these wishes in writing. Includes a health care directive.
Human Composting
Respect for human persons includes their burial. Human composting (also “natural organic reduction” or “terramation”) turns a deceased person into about 400 pounds of dirt mixed with human remains that are then scattered over a large area. This violates basic human dignity and our Catholic faith.
Domestic Violence
Domestic violence refers to the physical, sexual or psychological harm by a current or former partner or spouse and includes teen dating relationships.
This violence affects the whole family, including children. Faith communities are called to offer hope, help, and healing to all harmed by domestic abuse and violence.
Foster Care
Foster families who open their hearts and homes to children who need love, stability and safety, the youth and all touched by foster ccare need our prayer, encouragement and support.
Human Trafficking
Sex and labor trafficking occur when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or performing labor against his or her will. You can help stop trafficking with our resources.
